Is There Anybody Out There?

From ancient stargazers to modern astronomers, we’ve searched the stars pondering the same question. This Musician’s Choice service explores the science, the wonder, and the spiritual questions behind our search for cosmic company. Whether you’re fascinated by astronomy, inspired by mystery, or simply curious about what our faith has to say, join us for this Musician’s Choice service as we apply a healthy dose of cosmic curiosity to one of the biggest questions humanity has ever asked.

*****NEW LINK TO ATTEND ONLINE*****

Since 2020, Northwoods has operated under a Zoom license purchased through the UUA at a significant discount. That program is now being phased out. However, because the account is now configured as an individual Zoom Pro account rather than one purchased through the UUA, Zoom now requires that all meetings use either a waiting room or a pass code for security purposes.

Online worship will take place using the Zoom video-conferencing platform, using a new link:

Please note – if you use our custom URL to attend service www.zoom.us/my/northwoodsuu or join by Meeting ID: 766 833 5778, you will be prompted to enter a password, which is 1111.

Hands of Justice: Rebuilding Lives After Human Trafficking

Join us for a meaningful conversation with Dawn Candy, Executive Director of Hands of Justice, as she shares how our community can respond to one of today’s most urgent human rights issues—human trafficking. Grounded in the shared values of compassion, justice, and the inherent worth and dignity of every person, this presentation will introduce the mission of Hands of Justice and its three pillars of service: Survivor Aftercare, Economic Empowerment, and Community Awareness.

Together, we will explore how informed, trauma-responsive communities can help restore hope, foster healing, and create opportunities for survivors to rebuild their lives. Whether through learning, advocacy, volunteering, or partnership, every person has the ability to be part of a community where dignity is restored, hope is renewed, and justice is pursued for all.

After service in the Garden Room.

Religious Education

“Life Becomes Religious Whenever You Make It So” Summer Program

Join Jaclyn Bell for a creative, all-ages workshop exploring the tradition of making cornhusk figures, a craft with deep roots in many Native American cultures. As we learn about and respectfully honor this tradition, each participant will create their own figure to enjoy as a toy, a meaningful addition to a home altar, or a seasonal fall decoration.

Come celebrate creativity, learning, and appreciation for the diverse traditions that enrich our world!

Options for Younger Children:

Our youngest friends can join the Chalice Children in the Childcare Room (Ages 2-4 yrs, room 2, downstairs). Families can also watch the service from the Family Room, or keep young children at the front of the sanctuary in the Wee Worship area.
