Blue Mountain Meditation

April 2 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Blue Mountain Passage Meditation

Meets Tuesdays at 4pm in the Teen Room (upstairs).

We have been meeting at Northwoods for over 30 years to read and discuss books of the world mystics and writings by the teacher and founder of Blue Mountain Center of Meditation and join in a half hour of silent meditation.

Passage Meditation

– This practice is based on memorized passages from mystical writings (eg. The Prayer of St. Francis, “Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace, etc.”)

– The aim of the meditator is to become what he/she meditates on.

-The practice also includes 7 other points (allied living skills.) They include the use of a mantram, slowing down, one-pointed attention, putting others first, training the senses, joining with fellow meditators, and reading spiritual literature.

Please visit the website (bmcm.org) for a helpful overview of this spiritual practice before attending a session.

This is not a guided meditation nor a Buddhist practice, rather an enriching meditation practice which involves supporting allied disciplines.
