Religious Educational Philosophy
Religious education is an important commitment that we make to
our children, our community, and ourselves. It is often the reason that people
seek out and join religious communities. Northwoods Unitarian Universalist
Church’s (NUUC) Religious Education program has adopted the philosophy of
providing a foundation for the lifelong endeavor of identifying that which is
valuable and meaningful. The Religious Education program will create
opportunities for children and youth to learn and practice Unitarian
Universalist principles and traditions.
NUUC will equip our young people with the tools needed to live lives which
reflect those principles and traditions. Our religious community will carry out
this vision by weaving together:
Education in classroom or group settings.
Ritual and worship by having weekly Children’s Chapel.
Social interaction with weekly fellowships.
Social action and service by hosting monthly church wide social action projects.
