Welcome to the Northwoods Unitarian Universalist Church. We are a part of
a liberal religious denomination where each person is encouraged to pursue
his/her own spiritual journey.
The uniqueness, the thing that differentiates one religion from another, is its
source of authority, that upon which it grounds its perception of truth. For
some it may be a sacred book or the revelation of a great leader. For Unitarian
Universalists the source of authority is individual experience refined through
reason and spirit and tested in the community.
Therefore we believe not what we are told to believe, nor what we wish to
believe, but what we are compelled by conscience to believe.
